CGTWORKS was hired to obtain consent from the Camden Council to extend an existing basement in a conservation area in Hampstead. The brief was to have a modern and efficient space, maximizing the natural light in the basement level, while creating a connection with the garden.

Once we successfully gained permission from Camden Council, we proceeded with interior design and technical design, coordinating inputs from structural engineers, an arboricultural consultant and specialized contractors.

For this project we designed a bespoke cladding for the extension’s roof and sides. The pattern and panel connections were studied through a 3d model that allowed us to refine the details of our project with specialized components of fibre cement and decorative external cladding.

Marley Ethernit was selected for the quality of their products and we studied, together with a specialized installer, the best way to clad the extension with an invisible fixing.
